Science
Experiences in science are used to foster a respect for nature so that students can understand the processes of science—observation, description, experimentation, and data collection. The goal is to increase the student's knowledge of life, earth, and physical science. As this knowledge is acquired, students learn to appreciate the roles that science and technology play in shaping our world, and they become involved in local environmental issues. The science curriculum is explored through experimentation and cooperative learning experiences.
Leveled readers and cross-curricular activities from the Imagine It! language arts program, are coupled with hands-on laboratory and culminating exploration activities provided by the North Carolina Museum of Life and Science’s Science-In-A-Suitcase Kits.
